In this match, no captain is listed for Penrith however in the season summary Bob O'Reilly listed as the captain.

There was no captain nominated in the team lists published in the SMH the Wednesday before, and also O'Reilly was listed as an out with injury. Furthermore, was there no reference made to a Penrith captain in the SMH match report the next day.

However, looking at the team list and who had been captain in and around that time, the assumption (at this stage) was that it was Zac Olejarnik. This can probably be confirmed through other sources.

According to the SMH on Saturday the 9th April 1977, Tim Sheens was promoted for this game and took over the captaincy.
