I noticed with the NRL.com article (https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/12/31/vale-gone-but-never-forgotten-by-the-rugby-league-family/) that Ron Taylor's death was listed as 5 January 2024, but this was the date that his death seems to have been announced by South Sydney. He actually died on 29 December 2023: South Sydney Rabbitohs (https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/vale-ron-taylor), Sydney Roosters (https://www.roosters.com.au/news/2024/01/10/in-memoriam--ron-taylor/), Sydney Morning Herald (https://tributes.smh.com.au/obituaries/499050/ronald-taylor/).
The reporting of Keith Barnes' death date is a bit unclear. Lots of the news articles about his death are vague on when he died, while some have reported the date as 8 April 2024 (which was the date of the announcement). The Daily Telegraph (https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/keith-barnes-dead-balmain-tigers-mourn-the-death-of-club-legend-nicknamed-golden-boots/news-story/c59311116523b6f0def4b2cdfcb83a07), however, were specific in saying he "died on Sunday night," referring to 7 April 2024.
