Wests Archive have the same details for Jim as we do I have asked them to check what info they have, they do agree your research is pretty compelling and are checking what they have and will get back to me next week.

I have updated both Ray Johnston & Dick Johnson to reflect the above I have also added comments on each to explain the confusion between the 2 players.

Yes Max I agree back when these games were done I was updating a spreadsheet and Andrew was inputting into the database my spreadsheets list R Johnson and Andrew has assumed this to be Ray Johnston by the look of it. I will update RLP to reflect these games as Dick Johnson.

Alternatively I suspect that the games listed against Dick Johnson for Newtown in 1934 are in fact Ray Johnston despite all media referring to him as R Johnson in 1934.

Newtown lock Ray Johnston was born on 16 May 1915 in Petersham, NSW. He died on 1 September 1939. His full name was Raymond Keith Johnston.

The rep games on Ray's profile for 1938-1942, which were played at fullback, are listed in newspapers as R. Johnson, of South Sydney and later Cessnock. I believe this would be Dick Johnson, whose details are available from westsarchives.com.au. The profile R Johnson for Cessnock 1941 would probably also be Dick. (I'm guessing there was an assumption that 'Dick' was short for Richard, but this was not the case)

City Seconds vs Country Seconds (4 Jun 1938)R Johnson (South Sydney)
Sydney Firsts vs New Zealand (6 Jul 1938)R Johnson (SS)
City Firsts vs Country Firsts (3 Jun 1939)R Johnson (SS)
Country Firsts vs City Firsts (7 Jun 1941)R Johnson (Cessnock)
Country Firsts vs City Firsts (4 Jul 1942)R Johnson (Cessnock)
Rest of NSW vs Fighting Services (26 Sep 1942)R Johnson (Cessnock)

Cyril "Snowy" Edwards has now been updated in RLP and should now be correct as per the above.

Does the site intend to add country league stats eventually? If not, or perhaps in the meantime, is it possible to assign a player to a country club season by season to keep track of player movements outside of Sydney? The Country rep teamlists would then include which club each player was selected from in the same way Sydney clubs are listed on rep games.

Thanks for the info Greg! For the game against Queensland, The Sun states S Elliott of Goulburn was selected, whereas the Yass Tribune says E Elliott of Goulburn.

This is the same inconsistency that happened when Snowy was selected in rep teams in May 1934: S Elliott of Leeton per Yass Tribune, and E Elliott of Leeton per Daily Telegraph, which is what made me think it was Snowy.

Wests Archives have done a great job of detailing Sid Elliott's playing history so no objections from me.

Thanks Max but I'm just not sure about the Southern Districts game v Qld 17 May 1936 the newspapers all say Elliott in the centre is from Goulburn the Wests Archive bio for Sid Elliott details that he played in Goulburn in 1936. For the Southern Districts v England game newspapers say Elliott at 5/8 is from Leeton and played for Newtown in 1936.

So I believe for 1936 Sid Elliott played against Qld & Snowy Elliott played against England.

For the rest I agree it is all Snowy Elliott I will update RLP to show.
