This started as a look at interesting and potentially non-British surnames (although as it turns out, some are), but I got a little sidetracked and so there's some other stuff in there too.

I've noted four instances (Della Valle, Thiering, Oliveira, and Loscocco) where the spelling currently on the website is a common variation in newspapers, but it appears to be incorrect based on genealogical records (and a general Google search of these non-British surnames). Given that these minor spelling errors recur in contemporary sources, I think it's worth noting them as variations rather than ignoring them as you would for a one-off error.

(With my earlier comment in mind, I couldn't actually find evidence of the spelling 'Lascoco' being used, so I'll ignore that spelling)
- Vincent Mahboub's full name was Vincent Michael Mahboub. He was born 17 October 1918 in Redfern, NSW, and died on 22 November 1992.
A bit of a bio for Mahboub: No doubt named after his older brother, also named Vincent, who was killed in action in France on 8 August 1918, Mahboub was born in Redfern to Maronite parents from Mount Lebanon. He played two first-grade games for Souths in 1938, suffering a broken collarbone in the second half of the latter match. Mahboub served during WWII with the 2/18th Battalion and was taken as a prisoner of war, in Singapore in February 1942, until the end of the war. He later moved to Queensland, where he died in 1992.

- Charles Hurlstone was born 7 April 1892 and died on 22 August 1962.
- I would recommend deleting all the info from the Additional Notes section for Charles Hurlstone. Charles appears to have had a darker-than-pale complexion, but this speculation about his ethnicity is conjecture. He was of English and Irish descent. The last thing rugby league needs is more historical players being misidentified as Aboriginal.
- Dan Davies (Glebe and Newcastle) died on 27 October 1948.
- Manfred Moore died on 11 January 2020.
- Larry O'Malley's DOB should be 2 April 1883. He was born in Fairhill, Galway, Ireland. I've made some corrections and additions to the biography which currently appears under the 'Additional Notes' header:
Lawrence "Larry" O'Malley was born in Galway, Ireland on April 2nd, 1883. He came to Australia with his parents and older brother when he was a baby (they arrived in January 1884 on the 'Selkirkshire'). Looks like the young Larry was a bit of a tear-away as he spent time aboard on the 'Sobraon' - a training ship for young boys who were hard to control. He retired in 1914 to focus on becoming a referee.
- Larry O'Malley's son was Larry O'Malley who played for Easts. His full name was Lawrence O'Malley Jr. He was born 19 October 1917 in Sydney, NSW, and died on 8 February 1976.
