The NSWRL & Bulldogs website show Dykes at FB & Cochrane 5/8 the match report refers to Dykes as both FB & 5/8 and I can't find video of the game, what's your source.

The game was shown om Fox Sports prior to the first grade game. I now have a copy of it. To my knowledge, Taye Cochrane has only played fullback & Kade Dykes can play in a number of positions. It was stated during the opening of the game & in general play it was obvious.

Will confirm Ted's assessment. But, I will say it's been regular practice to leave as per the team-sheet that is submitted to the NSWRL/QRL/NRL.

Honest question; is this from say NRL time onwards? The reason I ask is that there have been plenty of changes in 80s games & there was a time when Brian Smith used to name a team & then make 5 or 6 positional changes to try & fool the opposition. He did this regularly.

AJ Lucantonio

As far as I'm concerned it's fairly general practice to go through the teamlist as chosen or displayed on the graphics at a televised match.

It's a fairly common going way back to 1908 that players would change positions mid game or a replacement would come on and require positional changes or players would swap positions continually throughout a game I know Manly had been doing that with Kola & Faulalo in some games recently.

I feel we can only go off the latest team list as published at the time when the players take the field. So in this case it appears the team list was never changed Dykes was listed at fullback and Cochrane 5/8 if that's not how they played then we can only go by what is documented
