1978 Channel 10 Challenge Cup Rd 1 Norths V Penrith

I have details now in RLP of the all the 1978 Channel 10 Challenge Cup games with the exception of the Rd 1 game Norths v Penrith on Fri 25 Aug I have looked in every newspaper I thought may have the team list but I have not found the teams so short of finding video of the game I have come to a dead end.

So I'm calling for help from the community here to see if anyone can track down the teams for this game.

From memory, North Sydney Bears have an official club historian. Have you tried contacting them?

I have tried they are not very forthcoming with information or a contact person I've had a reply from a Fran in admin telling me how they love RLP but no further responses to any of my emails on various topics including errors on their website which needs updating.

Dennis Braybrook was selected to ref the Norths v Canterbury semi according to SMH.

Yes in the SMH on Tue 5 Sept Braybrook is nominated for the Friday 8 Sept Challenge Cup 2nd Semi-Final Norths v Canterbury game and Kevin Roberts the Thursday 7 Sept 1st Semi-Final Souths v Balmain.

However all newspapers on Thursday list Braybrook as referee for the Thursday night Souths v Balmain game and the Daily Mirror on Friday lists Doug Wintin as the ref for the Friday Norths v Canterbury game.
