All done, I have removed Mick from Brian Bourke and left him as Brian and updated the Young team in 1935. For the time being I have left Cecil Johnson's nickname as Charlie.

- Artie Carnell, DOB should be 24 May 1909 (instead of 9 June).
- Bernard Clifford was born in Wollongong NSW.
- Jack Balmain, died 21 October 2001. Full name John Edward Balmain. He would be the same person as J Balmain who played for Australian XIII as he later moved to Victoria
- H Bartley's first name was Harry. Born 5 January 1906 in Gunnedah NSW, died 20 April 1968. Nickname was Tibby. He was also known as Harold Bartley in newspapers, but his full name was simply Harry Bartley.
- W Hagney's first name was William. Born 11 October 1903 in Macksville NSW, died 7 July 1975. Full name William Alexander Hagney.
- D Haslett's first name was Donald. Born 29 June 1915 in Mudgee NSW, died 18 October 2000. Full name Donald James Haslett.
- Cecil Johnson, born 17 June 1902 in St Leonards NSW, died 17 January 1976. Full name Joseph Cecil Johnson.
(NB: I haven't looked too thoroughly, but I haven't been able to confirm the nickname of Charlie for Cecil)
- Harold Johnson, born 18 July 1906 in St Leonards NSW, died 9 March 1988.
- Jimmy Johnson, born 6 October 1904 in St Leonards NSW, died 30 September 1971. Full name James Henry Johnson.
- Pat Morgan, born 30 November 1917 in North Sydney NSW, died 14 July 1975. Full name Patrick Thomas Morgan.

- J Meyer: first name was Jack. In most newspapers, his surname appears to have been either Meyers (rather than Meyer) or Myers.
- N McKenzie's first name was Noel.
- K Watson's first name was Keith.

- Mick Bourke: There are a few articles about a 'Mick Bourke', but it's not clear to me whether it's the same person. Every article that is definitely related to this player calls him Brian, which was his real name, so the nickname 'Mick' might be an error (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Born 4 September 1910 in Mosman NSW, died 24 July 1947. Full name Brian Vincent Bourke. He is the same person as Brian Bourke who played for Young.

Thanks Max.

Royce definitely did not play in this game he was in the NSW SoO team for the game the following Tuesday and none of the SoO players played that weekend. Craig Connor was in the selected team and played, the Big League review of the game states Penrith was without Simmons.

Round 16: Eastern Suburbs vs Penrith (17 June 1984)
As best I can tell, this game is the difference between whether Royce Simmons played 237 or 238 games for Penrith. A lot of sites list this game as one of Simmons' 238 games for Penrith, whereas RLP has Craig Connor as starting hooker (and therefore 237 career games for Simmons).

RL Tables lists Simmons as hooker, while @roofromoz's site has a discrepancy on whether he played (counted here towards Royce's 238, but Simmons not listed in the match page).

It appears to me Simmons did not play in this game, so RLP is correct, unless anyone has differing information. @Paul Carter?

Or maybe someone has another explanation to bring Simmons up to 238 games on RLP. Otherwise the recent reporting from the club and the media were unfortunately incorrect in listing Simmons with 238 games.

Some relevant excerpts from the Sydney Morning Herald:

Quote from: Sydney Morning Herald, 13 June 1984PENRITH: M Levy (c), B Lobb, R Gigg, K Wolffe, B Gonzales, B Izzard, G Alexander, P Burgmann, G Howell, W Fenton, J Vitanza, C Connor, M Goodwin.

...

Penrith provided a surprise last night when they selected their talented lock Craig Connor as hooker for Sunday's match against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground. Connor has impressed as a lock and, with Royce Simmons in the State side, coach Tim Sheens decided to utilise the hooking talents he displayed on a New Zealand tour of the State Under-18 team four years ago.
Quote from: Sydney Morning Herald, 18 June 1984Their usual skipper, Royce Simmons, who will hook for NSW in the State of Origin match against Queensland at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday night, was impressed. "They really played well - particularly in the second half," Simmons said.
