The only question to me would be why always 21,525, why not 21,526 or 21,524? It's interesting though.

Feedback/Suggestions / Quinlivan brothers
Last post by Max Turner - 14 May, 2024, 09:38:15 PM
Oscar and Allan's DOBs are completely wrong (including the year for Oscar), which appears to have come from Wikipedia. SSR Almanac lists the same DOBs I have found:
- Oscar Quinlivan's DOB should be 4 December 1896. His full name was Oscar John Quinlivan.
- Alan Quinlivan should be Allan, although Alan appears to be a common misspelling. Allan's DOB and birthplace should be 22 January 1915 in Taree, NSW. Full name was Allan Adrian Beresford Quinlivan.

- Clinton Quinlivan, born 8 May 1908 in Taree, NSW, died 12 November 1980. Full name was Clinton James Quinlivan.
- Leon Clinton, born 9 February 1913 in Taree, NSW, died 27 September 1989. Full name was Leon Gerald Clinton.
- Jack Quinlivan, born 9 July 1921 in Taree, NSW, died 23 October 1978. Full name was Jack Gregory Quinlivan.

- J Quinlivan was Jasper Quinlivan, born 13 April 1906 in Taree, NSW, died 20 November 1978. Full name was Jasper Arthur Quinlivan. He was a brother of all of the above.
- F Quinlivan was Fred Quinlivan, born 21 January 1899 in Taree, died 17 November 1976. Full name was Robert Frederick Quinlivan, and his nickname was Boy. He was a brother of all of the above.

They must sell tickets to a maximum which is slightly below venue capacity and leave some room for those entering with season passes and similar, as Greg says. But surely the people with passes would also be included in the crowd figure.

Penrith's QF against Parramatta in 2022 was above this (21,863), so what changed beginning in 2023?

I can only assume this is lazy reporting by the club or something, because a coincidence seems too unlikely.

Possibly, which is why I put the 96% figure in there. I have never come across something that before (except at Newtown Henson Park games LOL)

Could it be that they only sell a maximum 21,525 tickets and leave the extra capacity for other non-paying/non-crowd purposes.

I was just updating some stats from 2023 & noticed that the round 21 2023 crowd between Penrith & Canterbury was 21,525. That number struck me as peculiar because that was the exact same crowd from round 10 2024 (i.e. Friday).

Then looking further, the crowds for the round 26 2023 game Penrith V Parramatta, the round 27 2023 Penrith V North Queensland & Qualifying Final 2023 Penrith V New Zealand were all wait for it... 21,525!!! That's 4 crowds last year (3 in a row) + 1 this year (all at BlueBet Stadium) are all the same crowd. I confirmed these crowds with the NRL website. Also note that round 2 2023 Penrith V Parramatta was 21,522. The repeated figure is approximately 96% of the ground's capacity.

What is the likelihood of this happening?

Two diverse Victorian players from the 1920s:

- H Yoffa was Harry Yoffa, born 16 March 1902 in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel, died 2 December 1993. Full name was Henry Herbert Yoffa. Birthplace was part of the Ottoman Empire at the time of his birth.
- ? Karagushian should be Nazareth Karagheusian (note spelling correction), born 22 January 1898 in Paris, France, died 21 February 1968. Full name was Vahram Nazareth Tacvor Karagheusian. He was of Armenian descent.

Thanks Greg. Do you mind checking Whiticker's books for whether he is listed as Edwin or Edward?  He seems to be called Edward in news articles during the controversy about the grandstand in the 2000s, which is what I think his name should be.

I have updated the Brown's, I have also created a profile for Harry Sunderland and added the family links.
