Interesting that the St.George games don't come up on his profile then.

Ted, He did play with St.George in 2 pre-season games in 1936 but injured his knee and didn't play again, he did not play with Canterbury and I have now fixed this.

So all should now be good.

Nelson 'Bill' Hardy

https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/nelson-hardy/summary.html

Like some others, when you see Nelson on the birthday list, he comes up as having played with Canterbury & St.George whereas it appears he only played with Easts. Something wrong, somewhere.

Thanks Max, Tony McCarron had his DOD as 22/11 but as you say unlikely if that was in the Telegraph on the same day. I have just left his year of death as 1999 and put a note saying he died in November 1999.

This is the article that was published the Daily Telegraph on 22 November 1999:

Quote from: The Daily Telegraph, 22/11/99DUAL premiership winner and Canterbury life member Roy McCarter has died in Newcastle aged 85.

Only 160cm tall, McCarter's tackling made the halfback feared even by the biggest props when he joined Canterbury from Souths, Newcastle in 1936.

His funeral is at St Augustus Church, Merewether, today.

It seems unlikely to me that Roy would've died on 22 November and his funeral held on the same day, so I'd guess he probably died a few days or weeks earlier, but I don't know which specific date that was...

-Newton Wore No. 21. When he came off the Bench for the Sydney Bulldogs in that game.

-My Source in regards to Newton coming off the Bench for the Sydney Bulldogs in this game. I just watched the whole game on NRL Throwback

You only have a year for Roy McCarter's death. In David Middleton's yearbook 2000, it lists the month of his death as November on page 50. On Wikipedia, it lists his death as 1 November 1999 but gives no link to verify this.
