Thanks Max, Tony McCarron had his DOD as 22/11 but as you say unlikely if that was in the Telegraph on the same day. I have just left his year of death as 1999 and put a note saying he died in November 1999.

This is the article that was published the Daily Telegraph on 22 November 1999:

Quote from: The Daily Telegraph, 22/11/99DUAL premiership winner and Canterbury life member Roy McCarter has died in Newcastle aged 85.

Only 160cm tall, McCarter's tackling made the halfback feared even by the biggest props when he joined Canterbury from Souths, Newcastle in 1936.

His funeral is at St Augustus Church, Merewether, today.

It seems unlikely to me that Roy would've died on 22 November and his funeral held on the same day, so I'd guess he probably died a few days or weeks earlier, but I don't know which specific date that was...

https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/roy-mccarter/summary.html

You only have a year for Roy McCarter's death. In David Middleton's yearbook 2000, it lists the month of his death as November on page 50. On Wikipedia, it lists his death as 1 November 1999 but gives no link to verify this.

These 2 appear to be the same person with the same middle names, date of birth & date of death. Probably needs merging:

I've has a closer look into the White family thanks to Tony McCarron & Max Turner and we have found that this article from the Bulldogs is wrong on a couple of points Lloyd White was 81 when he died in 2016 not 85 he was born in 1935 also only Jack White was his brother Laurie White was no relation.

In regard to Jack White RLP had him playing for Newtown in 1951 before joining Canterbury but this was a different Jack White who came from Cessnock and returned to the country in 1952.
