I'm pretty sure 18 is Jarvis and I've fixed Garrett but no idea who #20 is for Parramatta.

https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/seasons/nswrfl-1983/round-26/st-george-dragons-vs-parramatta-eels/summary.html

Parramatta: 18 Brad Garrett (he misses the tackle at 0.23). There is a number 20 at 1.00 (back to camera)

St.George: there is a number 18 at 1.44. Is that Jarvis or another player not listed. 20. is definitely Cannon & 17. Horwood.

Also just further. Touch Judges are also listed for most games. In most of the Ernie Christensen Rugby League Yearbooks. Including some games not listed in the NSWRL Referees Association Annual Reports.

If you are looking find more Touch Judge appointments for games. Their are NSWRL Referees Association Annual Reports. Going back to 1962. That list Touch Judge appointments for First and Reserve Grade Grand Finals, Rep Games and Minor Cup Finals. Which you can view online.

Thanks Ted I think you're right, pity we can't see Pattison's number better so I have now given him #20.

For Pat Phelan:

- His DOB was 13 August 1953 (from the family's immigration file, National Archives)
- His death date was 11 January 1979 (from his death record, Queensland BDM)

Feedback/Suggestions / Match Official Data
Last post by AJ Lucantonio - 07 May, 2026, 03:55:17 PM
Hi all

As you would've started to see across the website, especially across the more recent seasons we have started to add in match official roles (namely touch judges and video referees) on-top of existing referee data we have.

If you have anything to assist or improve our record-keeping in this area, feel free to post in the forums about and we will address it when we can!

Thanks in advance
AJ!

After looking at the video I think Greg Nixon is #15.

Steve Anderson(#4) & Ian Forrest(#6) were originally selected at centre & 5/8 but neither started the game. Jersey #15 is on the field when Gardiner scored in the 4th minute so it must be Greg Nixon as John O'Connor(long blonde hair) is later seen in #4, Steve Anderson has much darker hair than O'Connor so it can't be him.

I can't spot #6 jersey in the clip so it looks like Nixon started the game at 5/8 in jersey #15, John O'Connor started the game in #4(originally allocated to Anderson) and Anderson is not seen in the clip as he came on the field after Glen Mortimer scored his try in the 75th minute.
