There seems to be some anomaly regarding this player. According to his stats, he played all his games for Redcliffe:

but when you list the birthdays under August, it lists that he played for Canterbury:

I just noticed the two Jordan Martins have been merged back into one profile

Paul Martin's profile says his son is "(player ID 51557 not found)" - so the remerge has created a glitch

There doesn't seem to be many mentions of Connell in newspapers (although it's a bit hard to search considering Jack McConnell was in the same team). Tony has identified this player as John Augustine Connell, who looks like a decent candidate to me as well.

- Born: 23 May 1914 in Marrickville, NSW
- Died: 15 December 1992

John's death notice indicates that he was known as "Jack". I'd agree that "Billy" is just an error!

Thanks Ted I have fixed this now the error seems to stem from Ian Collis' A to Z of Rugby League Players book as it lists him as Billy for some reason in the earlier Alan Whiticker books it shows him as J.

I note that when you search for John Connell, a list comes up including Billy Connell. Is there any way to change his page to John Connell outright?

I note you have a comment from somebody who claims to be his son (& you may have verified it via email) who says his name is John Augustine Connell. And you have that name listed under Billy Connell.

The Canterbury database also lists him as John Connell.

I almost missed it myself. I thought there must have been 2 Connells that played for Canterbury at that time.
